Room-Capture change list
Sep 18 2008 v1.13
o Microphone calibration was not working in ASIO mode.
o All microphones can now be accessed via the Settings menu.
Sep 06 2008 v1.12
o The soundcard settings was not stored when in VXD or WDM mode.
Sep 05 2008 v1.11
o Improved ASIO
Sep 02 2008 v1.10
General
o Added support for ASIO soundcards. A new audio transport structure is made.
o Added a "Enable all modes" button in the soundcard settings dialog where it will enable all possible modes for any soundcard.
o A number of bugs are fixed such as; waterfall scaling, weighting filters, STI, RT60 etc
Capture:
o New multiple time window called AmbiWin. This window will be wider at low frequencies and allow for better high Q resolution and at the same time keep the resolution at high frequencies. On the other hand it will pass more of the reverberation or ambient signals at acoustic measurements.
o A new symmetric time window for Multi/Ambi/Duo-Win type of time windows.
o The stimulus can use the current Eq optimisation (filters in the Output tab) as a stimulus Eq.
o Enlarge either the frequency or time graph by either double-click on it or use the buttons in the toolbar.
o Export the Impulse response as Wav file with 16, 24 or 32-bit resolution.
Quantities
o Improved Noise Correction in the Quantities tab. Reverberation time (and other quantities) is now more consistent.
o Added sound source calibration in the Quantities tab. Start the calibration and a self-instructed sequence will run.
o Help file for the quantities tab.
RTA
o RTA now has settings to the left in the toolbar and the pause button is moved to the toolbar.
o Bars can also be shown with multi-channel, by right-click in the RTA-graph. TBD
o Peak appearance time can be set for the single channel RTA bars. TBD
o There is a new feature called Dynamic Diff in the RTA, which is a kind of Power Transfer Function. You find the button at the bottom right.
o The sound pressure level is now shown in the RTA and it uses the selected weighting. Depending on averaging it will show Fast (125ms) or Slow (1s) SPL.
o NC and SPL is always visible even when multiple RTA traces is shown, the values are valid for the active curve, which you select in the levels bar.
o The Averaging choices more logical in the RTA.
o Auto ranging of the level by double-clicking in the dB-scale.
o The mouse can drag the dB-scale.
Output; filter simulation
o Added a toolbar in the output tab where you can listen to the filter with music by clicking the speaker icon. Or run the filter from the input of the soundcard.
o The Eq list in the output tab can be resized, just press the left mouse button above the list and then drag up and down.
Waterfall
o Time compensated CSD. A new waterfall display that adjusts the frequency bins by the phase delay.
o Waterfall data can be exported in a text file.
Help file
o Help file for the quantities tab.
o An updated Help file with the new features above, is on the way in time for the release.
Jan 02 2008 v1.06
o The frequency scale in the waterfall had a scaling bug.
Dec 21 2007 v1.05
o Improved the RTA, it will now run at the selected resolution
even when the CPU power is to low (it will just run slower).
o Made the Averaging choices more logical in the RTA.
o The sound pressure level is now shown in the RTA and it use
the selected weighting. Depending on averaging it will show
Fast (125ms) or Slow (1s) SPL.
o Double click on the SPL or PIR window in the Capture tab will
zoom the graph, just double click again to restore.
o + much more...
Nov 13 2007 v1.04
o The levelsbar now show the correct value, the RTA is also corrected.
o Added Infinite integration in the RTA (right click in the RTA graph).
Nov 06 2007 v1.03
o STI is now more accurate.
o Fixed a bug in the levels bar where all channels above 1 used the same hold level as ch 1.
o The signal to noise ratio (SNR) is now checked when a measurement is done
and the user is alerted if it's lower than 25dB, some solutions is also shown in this alert.
o The SNR is now also shown in the ETC graph.
o The reference can be set to any channel in the levelsbar to the left, expand the channel and
you will find a Ref [x]. When a channel is the reference is it also indicated by the channel
number text with a different foreground/background color.
o The RTA is now able to do 2 channel RTA when the soundcard is set to 2 channels.
o Since the RTA can be 2 channel it is now also possible to set the microphone compensation for
the reference channel, this is used for RTA and Transfer Function.
o Added Delay-Free windowing mode where the time-window start at the impulse peak position.
o There is a new experiemental mode in Waterfall where the time is adjusted according to Group-Delay,
it is called TCSD (Time Corrected Spectral Decay).
Oct 10 2007 v1.02
o Periodic CSD (periodic Waterfall or PCSD) where the time-scale is
replaced by a number of periods scale. This will expand the
time resolution at higher frequencies.
o Added a choice of 3 different integration time's in the RTA,
they are accessed via the right click menu (Medium = 125ms).
Oct 04 2007 v1.01
o Microphone calibration wasn't stored under certain circumstances.
o The Q and Bandwidth text in the Room Mode tab wasn't updated when changed.
o Added some nice features in the curve manager in the Capture Tab, now you can
select to show or hide all curves. And you can also select or deselect all Operate on.
This is accessed via the right click menu in the curve bar area below the operate on menu.
Oct 02 2007 v1.00
o Initial release...
Known Issues
o There are redraw problems with the curve selector in the capture tab, this is not a problem on NVidia graphic cards but on others like Intel. As a temporary solution do you click on the sizer just above it to the right (the 4 shadowed lines).
o Print preview may crash the program sometimes so it is recommended to save all the work before looking at a preview.
